Landscaping with Native Plants of Minnesota

If you want to learn more about utilizing native plants in your landscape, local Minnesota author Lynn Steiner has just released the 2nd Edition of her book, Landscaping with Native Plants of Minnesota.

This is a very comprehensive book describing the different ecosystems in Minnesota, and the native plant communities in those ecosystems. The book guides the reader on how to choose the right native plants through developing an understanding of the the soil and climatic conditions of their own landscape.

It has a great plant guide with an extensive listing of native plant profiles including trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, ferns, grasses and sedges, all of which can be found for sale at native plant nurseries.

There's a section on sample landscapes including a shaded woodland, sunny prairie, pond and small city landscape so readers can utilize some of these concepts in their home landscape.

Whether you're just starting to garden with native plants or are a seasoned native plant enthusiast, this book is a great reference for all audiences.
